Topic Four: Landscape --Representation, Intervention and Body-as-site Assignment #1 : Street or Garden

Garden

For this assignment I chose to immerse myself in a garden. I walked around my neighborhood until I found a plant that caught my attention. I had taken my sketchbook with me and an apple as a snack. While I stood there observing the monstera leaves and their curves I looked down at my apple and immediately thought of the garden of Eden story.

As a child I was taught more things about the Bible and about religion than I should have been taught life lessons. So this piece represents a big part of my childhood. Since I thought of the garden of Eden just by looking at an apple and a plant, it means that the bible has had a large influence in my childhood.
