Topic Two: Pattern and Ornament, Part 2 of 2- Assignment #2

Chair Drawings. (Frontal view, side view, and top view)

I have never designed a chair in my life or even thought about doing it. I love trying new things and so I enjoyed this assignment. I had to use a lot of imagination and had to think really hard to draw the top view and side view of my chair. I looked at the Eames chair and used it's design of no arms as a base for my own design. My chair is meant to be more of a decorative chair rather than a comfortable one. 

Process: First I sketched out ideas in my sketchbook and refined the design I liked the best. With a graphite pencil I then drew my final design on paper and added details. For the other views of the chair, I made sure to measure the first one so that it would look more accurate.
